Shiu Pun Keung Kenny

 

從小就愛畫畫，沈醉在自已想像的世界裡，在鄉野間狂奔，看了美麗的人和事又用畫筆記下。礙於閱讀文字的障礙，我眼中，文章上一個個文字和標點不過是一塊塊整齊排列的方塊與符號，教科書的留白就成為我隨手可得的畫布！ 爸爸打我，也無阻我畫得起勁；童年的記憶中，只有美術科的成績最耀眼，讀書的年代只有藝術讓我得到自信和慰藉。中學畢業，感恩遇上第一位恩師，打開我的油畫藝術大門。從此內心對藝術修行的飢渴永無休止。憑著家人支持和自己對興趣的堅持，背起包袱暫別我親愛的父母，跑進加拿大渥太華藝術學院去進修藝術，那裡我不僅研修油畫，也學習了雕塑、版畫等，配合離港前修讀了時裝、攝影的課程，我對藝術有更多元化的理解和應用。在加拿大寒冬下苦讀的歲月中，我得到創作上的第一個肯定：被當時渥太華藝術學院院長的稱垂，邀請我為他畫人像油畫。

木納的我，一直沈浸於創作，習於不用和人溝通，從小我就害怕與人講話。後因家庭變故，急召回港。當我的努力，回到香港都化為無有時，人生頓感茫茫。為了糊口，我曾經嘗試過不同行業，這些經歷也滋潤了我日後的創作。聖經有云：「當天主關起了一扇門，必會再為你開啟另一扇窗。」祂帶領我離開人生幽谷，善用天父給我藝術的才能，從事美術教學，學習先和小孩、家長、專業人士、老人溝通。讓我感受孩子大膽且豐富的想象力，從家長身上感受到無私的愛，看到職人對工作以外的藝術渴求，又深深被長者學生秏勁提筆畫畫的堅持所感動。2010年成立了自己的工作室，一邊創作、一邊教學工作，與學生一起組織壁畫創作義工團以藝術服務社會。近年先後策劃個展、師生聯展及參與本地盛事如《香港油畫邀請展》等，更有幸獲得大華銀行藝術裝置大獎2015新晉藝術家組銀獎。驀然回首，從事美術教學超過二十年，原來天主一直保守我倖免於難。衪是最偉大的雕塑者，而我是一塊沒有被放棄的泥土。祂是慈愛亦不失幽默，祂預備給我的是我預測不到的，衪讓我認識了熱愛藝術也篤信天主的太太。讓我這頑固的浪子回到了神的家中，正式成為神的兒女，放下自己，學習感恩，活出基督徒的生命，藉著創作，讚美主恩。

I grew up in the New Territories countryside, used to bare footing and painting in the farm. Due to my learning difficulties, I used to record my observation in daily life by painting instead of writing. The blank page of the book becomes the canvas that I can easily get! With my parent support, I studied Art in Ottawa. My artwork was highly appreciated by the dean of Ottawa School of Art but also I suffered from the cultural shock, it inspired me to find my cultural identity, hence I spend 10 years for my series of Qipao oil painting portraits. In 1997, I rushed back to Hong Kong, thanks for the talents from Heavenly Father, I have been a freelance artist in art education and creation. Few years later, I finally established the Knc Art Generation studio. Since 2014, I form an art volunteers’ group with my students to serve our society as the form of art workshops, mural paintings and visits. God is the greatest sculptor, and I am an artifact that has not been abandoned. God gave me what I could not have predicted. He allowed me to know the art of love. I firmly believe that God’s mercy, and I learn to be grateful, live a life of gratitude, and praise the Lord’s grace through creation.
